Dear Friends,

We hope this note finds you healthy and enjoying what’s left of this amazing warm summer we’ve had. You have probably been wondering what the RHPO is up to and whether there will be a 2020-2021 season. Well, as you may have heard, the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts is closed until at least 2021.

That said, Dr. Jessica Kun, our artistic director, and the Orchestra are exploring new and exciting ways to meet and practice together in a virtual space. We are hoping that we may even be able to put on virtual live performances this season, although it is still too early to know what this technology will allow, we are excited by the possibilities!

The board has met several times over the spring and summer, working to assure the future of the RHPO, despite its lack of operating revenue. This is where you can help. Our financial situation is dire. We won’t mince words here. It is critical that we raise funds quickly in order to fund the continued daily operation of this organization. Despite the fact that we have not been together since March, the RHPO continues to incur costs and pay its operating expenses. The lack of revenue from our planned concerts has put strong pressure on our bank account.

We urge you to consider making a charitable donation to the orchestra to ensure we can operate in the coming months ahead. Making an online donation to the RHPO is painless – Donate Now!

Thank you for all your support.
Sincerely,
RHPO team
